This can be seen most clearly in the scene where Jordana’s ex-boyfriend tries to force Oliver into admitting she is a ‘slut’. Red is also used in the film to represent violence. Oliver was attempting to seduce Jordana, even if it didn’t quite work out the way he thought it was going to. The entire bedroom is filled with red – the balloons, the blanket, the candles, even the lighting is red.
